Our client (a public biotech company) is seeking an Associate Director, FP&A who will support our Technical Operations organization. This person will build a strong business partnership between Technical Operations and Finance while driving financial analysis, insight, and decision making.
Strategic Planning & Analyses
Lead and provide financial & strategic support for Technical Operation (TechOps) Sr VP and business teams within the company
Serve as a strategic and operational partner with the TechOps Sr VP and other senior managers/directors in determining key strategic business objectives by influencing business decisions and by providing proactive recommendations, backed by strong financial analysis
Provide financial leadership across planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for the TechOps organization and for other departments as required
Provide monthly and quarterly actuals vs budget/forecast reporting to the TechOps Sr Management and cost center managers to enable better decision making and alignment to company objectives
Monthly department level budget v. actual reporting/flux analyses and accrual preparation in support of the monthly close process.
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and/or periodic senior management team financial review packages.
Build analytical frameworks and forward-looking models to enable quality decision-making including operational KPIs for TechOps organization
Meet all corporate finance requirements, follow corporate planning calendar. Identify and implement process improvement for planning cycle
Help attract, recruit and train top talent into the FP&A and TechOps FP&A organization including managing new associates within the TechOps FP&A team
Mentor high performing team members by helping to create a center of excellence and instilling best practices and SOPs across FP&A
Influence, motivate and collaborate with key business partners and stakeholders across levels
On ad hoc basis, participate on high-priority valuation or business development projects, including M&A, licensing deals, partnership discussion
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
BS or BA is required, an MBA or CPA is strongly preferred
7+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, consultant or corporate finance roles
Biotech industry preferred and manufacturing experience a plus
In-depth experience in aspects of accounting and finance, including technical knowledge of analytics and modelling; and strong knowledge of US GAAP required.
Excellent Excel skills including financial modelling, accounting systems and proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc…), Oracle Fusion experience a plus.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral and ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
Financial Business Acumen and the ability to represent strategy in financial models.
