Senior Tax Analyst

  • We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Tax team.
  • This position reports to the Tax Manager and will be responsible for assisting with Federal, state, local compliance, tax provision preparation, audits, research, and other various projects.
  • As needed, this individual will also assist with related administrative tasks.
  • The Sr. Tax Analyst must have exceptional financial, analytical and organizational skills and be comfortable juggling multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines.
  • In addition, the ideal candidate should have a bias for execution and a high level of drive and creativity to constantly improve your area of responsibility.

About the job
  • Prepare Federal, state, & local tax returns and supporting work papers and files.
  • This includes requesting, gathering, and analyzing financial information to effectively & efficiently generate tax returns, as well as maintaining supporting work papers and files while providing a clear audit trail to source / support documentation.
  • Participate in preparing the tax provision and related tax accounts, and ensuring compliance with ASC 740 reporting requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to coordinate gathering of information necessary for the income tax provision and income tax compliance.
  • Preparation of monthly income tax journal entries, account reconciliations, and quarterly variance analysis.
  • Develop projections of current and future book/tax differences, tax preference items, tax credits, etc.
  • Perform reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts to verify account balances.
  • Assist in analysis of proposed transactions for the purpose of identifying tax consequences; advising of material tax impacts and recommending alternative courses of action, when appropriate.
  • Analyze new tax laws, regulations, reporting requirements, and court cases, and implement those that impact the tax compliance.
  • Respond to questions and issues raised by taxing authorities during examinations, including preparation of responses, protests, and appeals.
  • Assist with registering or de-registering the entities served by the Tax Team with all appropriate Federal, state and local tax authorities.
  • Assist in SOX testing of tax department controls with respect to income tax accounts.
  • Maintain the Company's tax calendar to ensure that all filing and payment requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Assist with maintaining the files and records of the Tax Department.
  • Participate in tax process optimization and develop process to improve the Tax function.
  • Assist in researching opportunities, risks, and other ad hoc projects and initiates as needed.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with a background in public accounting required.
  • Work with a variety of functions and our external tax advisors.
  • Produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Scale and process-oriented with high attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties.
  • Understanding of tax requirements and exposures.
  • Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • CPA certified or in the process of certification preferred.
  • MST or Advanced Degree a plus.
  • Experience using NetSuite and or SAP a major plus.
