IT Contractor - Facility Onboarding

Job Description

We have an opportunity for contract work spanning 3-5 days. This job is located within 45 minutes of - Norfolk, Virginia. Currently we are looking for Level 2 and Level 3 techs for the end of October 10/31 - November 11/5.

We can go over more details on a brief interview if you are interested, see below for the scope of work:

Day 1:

1. Arrive onsite at 10pm (Unless told otherwise)

a. Meet point of contact.

b. Walkthrough of facility to identify all IT equipment and locations.

c. Plan on being on-site until at least 2pm the following day.

 

2. Unbox and take inventory of all equipment

a. Notify remote support of any missing equipment.

 

3. Get the network up and running

a. Remove old Router, Switches, Server

b. Rackmount new Switches, connect Server, SonicWall, Battery Backup, and Backup Drive per instructions

c. Clean up wiring to make more manageable and presentable

d. Confirm with remote support that all network equipment is online and visible.

 

4. Start Imaging

a. Start with one test machine and verify user backup is working with remote support

b. Begin imaging all computers and laptops in the facility

c. Label all computers, laptops and network equipment with provided labels

 

5. Printer Deployment

a. Setup and IP printers as per provided instructions

b. Send list of printer IP, Location, and Model to Remote Support for deployment.

 

6. Wi-Fi setup

a. Maintenance is responsible for mounting the newly provided access points

b. Inform remote support when the access points are mounted, and they will advise when to test connectivity.

 

7. Walkthrough user issues

a. Ensure all users can log into their computers and access their email

b. Verify there are no issues with all staff members

 

Subsequent Days:

 

1. Each day techs need to be on-site at 8am and will work to 7pm

2. Continuously follow up with end users ensuring they are satisfied

3. One tech must be present during each shift change to ensure nurses are capable of logging into devices and know how to use the new equipment.

 

Additional Requirements:

2. Contractors are representing The Company and need to exhibit professionalism at all times. This includes business casual attire and appropriate staff interactions.

3. If you are ever unsure or have questions or issues reach out to Remote Support for clarification.

4. Do not provide any information to staff outside of the scope of your work. Avoid interaction with residents of the facility.

5. Must possess a valid driver’s license

 

Problems will arise and you may not know what needs to be done. Remote support is always available to provide guidance should you hit a roadblock. However, you are expected to be knowledgeable and capable of troubleshooting IT issues on your own.
