Position Overview

The Project Manager will be expected to prepare and present progress updates to clients and Global Guardian management on a regular basis, ensuring the project/mission results we seek are being achieved. The position will be based in McLean, Virginia.


  • Assemble and prepare project/mission teams to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation
  • Lead missions from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and mission implementation plans, including risk mitigation
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring project/missions remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets. When adjustments are necessary, ensure awareness and approval by clients, vendors, and Global Guardian management.
  • Analyze project/mission progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that mission team adheres to project requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project/mission status and changes
  • Establish and maintain processes to manage project/mission quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple missions.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources—including third-party vendors.
  • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project/mission efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
  • Report project/mission outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years project management experience
  • Proven success working with all levels of management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Military or government experience in planning, preparing, and executing complex missions in hostile or difficult environments preferred
  • Experience planning and conducting missions in international environments, as well as a strong understanding of the impact of cultural differences on mission performance preferred
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines preferred
  • Experience developing in-house platforms for internal processes preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
