SUMMARY: The job of the Systems Engineer to ensure the overall infrastructure of Gilsbar remains available and working as intended. The infrastructure contains but is not limited to VOIP, Wireless Internet, Wired Internet, Internal Systems (hardware and software) and Cloud Systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL GILSBAR JOB POSITIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The ability to adhere to a work schedule and regularly attend work to meet client and Gilsbar production requirements.
The ability to work in a high paced office, call center environment.
The ability to work on a computer and multi-task (such as talk and type)
The ability to interact in a professional manner with coworkers, clients and customers.
The ability to focus on work and consistently perform tasks in compliance with Gilsbar and client policies and procedures.
The ability to meet assigned deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS JOB POSITION include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Systems Engineer I Specific Duties:
Enhance Business via new system implementation.
Work escalated Help Desk tickets
Ensure Uptime Service Level Agreements are maintained via troubleshooting complex issues.
Perform technical duties associated with cloud computing.
Manage cloud environment in accordance with company security guidelines.
Maintain a healthy infrastructure via Hardware, Software, and Cloud upgrades/updates.
Complete backup, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Generator, and other system checks to ensure Uptime in case of emergency
Train and mentor the Help Desk to grow the wealth of knowledge within the IT department.
Maintain policy and Procedures governing the IT/Infrastructure team to ensure all documentation is always accurate and up to date.
The ability to use independent judgement and discretion on matters of great significance to the company.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Windows and Microsoft Office environment, including Word, Outlook, Excel. Knowledge of insurance database system a plus.
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year college or university.
Systems Engineer I: Minimum three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
There is no automatic transition to the next level. Promotion is at the Supervisor’s discretion and upon the Engineer’s willingness and ability to take on responsibilities that are more complex.
CCNA, Network+, Security+, ITIL, Server OS Certifications, Microsoft Azure Certifications, one or a combination preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
