Job Description

  • Primary contact person for the customer. Provides quick response and follow-up to all customer inquiries through phone and/or email communication
  • Thorough knowledge of SAP systems for order entry and tracking, working closely with manufacturing to ensure order ships to meet customer's requirements
  • Handle all forms of customer inquiries and requests, price quotes and quality complaints/returns
  • Maintain and update customer master files, including specifications, correspondence, and pricing to ensure information is current
  • Monitor and reconcile customer payment issues, working with credit department and account managers
  • Coordinate pickups/bookings with Freight Forwarders
  • This position requires an incisive, articulate, professional "thinker", willing to make good and quick decisions on customer matters and able to prioritize work assignments
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment
  • Travel, meet customers and visit manufacturing plants


Qualifications

  • BA/BS in business, marketing, or related field, prior customer service experience (3-5 years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • Export/Import experience, process knowledge required
  • Technical background with the ability to read drawings and customer specifications preferred
  • Prior Customer Service experience in manufacturing, glass, pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Supply chain and vendor inventory management experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills to create and maintain sales reports, order status reports, quality complaint reports, etc
