REPORTS TO: Materials Coordinator DEPT: Shipping & Receiving

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Primary duties are: to receive incoming materials, components and supplies; package,

crate and ship outgoing finished product and/or parts; maintain proper levels of stockroom inventory; pick/deliver

components to production areas; load/unload freight from trucks with a forklift.


  • Receive all incoming deliveries and remove items from delivery vehicles; stage in Receiving Area
  • Review packing slips attached to incoming deliveries; count and verify items; look for damage and specification


  • Deliver item to addressee or place in proper inventory storage area and deliver receiving paperwork to proper point of


  • Work with Purchasing Department and Production Supervisor to ensure components are available when needed
  • Maintain stockroom and shipping area in neat and orderly fashion
  • Store hazardous materials according to OSHA standards
  • Conduct cycle counts as required
  • Count and verify outgoing materials according to specified bill of lading and/or shipping paperwork
  • Build pallets and crates according to specified measurements for outgoing product shipments, ensuring maximum

protection from damage while in transit

  • Ship outgoing finished products or parts according to specified instructions on shipping paperwork
  • Report shortages, damages, or specification departures in any outgoing materials (quality check)
  • Handle returned goods in expedient fashion to obtain proper credit
  • Operate an electric forklift for loading, unloading, moving, storing or stacking materials using standard safety Principles


  • Cross-train with other areas as requested
  • Assist in other areas of Production as requested
  • Participate in safety functions pertaining to Production
  • Other reasonably-related duties as assigned


Education: High School/GED

Experience/Knowledge: Working knowledge of Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse standard operating procedures

and the ability to apply this knowledge in a proficient and safe manner; forklift experience; 0-3 years relevant

  • Operates electric fork lift
  • Ability to build wooden pallets and custom size shipping crates
  • Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing and pulling between 50-75 pounds; crouching; bending;

twisting; kneeling; squatting; walking; standing for long periods; reaching in all directions; balancing;

holding, grasping and manipulating very small objects; hand/eye coordination; use safety ladder; tolerate

varying ranges of temperature in a Shop environment.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Medium – Ability to work independently or with others to complete tasks on schedule.


WORK SCHEDULE/ENVIRONMENT: Full-time, Monday, Wednesday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., in a

production environment.
