The School of Education is one of four schools at Georgian Court University. The School is home to 12 full-time faculty members and serves approximately 200 undergraduates (including Pre-Education majors) and 330 graduate students enrolled in various degree and/or certificate programs including teacher education and graduate programs including administration and leadership, school counseling, TOSD, ESL, autism and reading specialist.The Dean will serve as the primary representative of the School of Education to the University and wider community. The Dean will coordinate academic advancement activities within the School, lead CAEP re-accreditation, participate in University-wide planning and management activities, enhance and promote the School's instructional programs, support faculty scholarly activities, seek and facilitate additional school partnerships, and develop new initiatives to meet emerging needs.Essential Functions: Lead new and innovative efforts to market and...

promote all School of Education programs; Manage all aspects of the SOE functions; Prepare data collection and analysis for the CAEP re-accreditation; Develop and nurture partnerships with school districts to support clinical experience and clinical practice opportunities; Strengthen and promote GCU's flagship undergraduate and post-baccalaureate initial teaching certification programs, foster growth in the graduate leadership and educational services certificate and degree programs. Collaborate with programs within the School of Arts & Sciences that partner with education for "highly qualified" content mastery Help create pathways into undergraduate education, including support for required Praxis exam mastery Cultivate non-degree certification programs; Augment PK-12 teacher professional development partnerships and promote them as stepping-stones to GCU certificates and master's degrees; Advocate for socially just educational policies; Model and serve as a leader in the Mercy tradition.Qualifications: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in an appropriate field related to the School of Education; A minimum of ten years of faculty experience in higher education and a minimum of three years successful experience as a college/university administrator required; Evidence of demonstrated organizational and leadership skills in higher education; A distinguished record of scholarly research, evidence of excellence at university-level teaching at the rank of full Professor, or to be eligible for appointment at the rank of Professor A strong commitment to service tied to the university's mission within the Catholic, Mercy tradition; The capacity to develop and lead a unified strategic vision for the School; A track record of successfully leading NCATE/TEAC/CAEP accreditation and instituting a quality-oriented improvement cycle based on assessment and data analysis; A service-oriented leadership style with demonstrated evidence of success in fostering a collegial, collaborative environment with faculty, students, staff, and administrators across the university and with the community at large; Knowledge of NJDOE regulations and licensure standards for teachers and other school professional personnel, or willing to learn; Effective communications with faculty, students, and staff within the School, university, and partnering school districts; Ability to engage in constructive problem-solving and to make sound decisions; Ability to engage in constructive conflict management; Commitment to inclusion and diversity to ensure a productive work environment; Experience in and commitment to leading, promoting, and supporting the scholarly and professional activities of School faculty; Experience in and commitment to periodic reviews of School curriculum, instructional resources, and facilities to ensure quality of programs; Experience in and commitment to involvement in PK-12 education policy; Experience in and commitment to managing multiple sites and varie
