General Purpose
Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all sewer pump stations, plant facilities, and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following essential duties and responsibilities are required at all Pay Grade levels
· Inspects plant equipment to ensure proper and normal operation.
· Operates handheld and light equipment including meters, jet trailer, and step pump unit.
· Performs maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repair on all district vehicles and equipment.
· Performs pump station checks according to District procedures.
· Maintains records.
· Performs routine step unit and grinder maintenance and repair.
· Performs routine jetting and vacuuming of sewer lines, manholes, and pump stations.
· Cleans lines, stations, step units.
· Processes computer work orders including man hours, inventory, and needed comments.
· Interacts with customers.
· Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
The following Other Duties and Responsibilities are required of Associate Maintenance Technicians at all Pay Grade Levels.
· Inspects meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections.
· May perform portions of the work of higher classified positions, occasionally, as assigned.
· Participates in “on-call” after hours rotation.
· Serves on various employee or other committees, as assigned.
· Performs related duties as assigned.
Desired Education and Experience
Associate Maintenance Tech Pay Grade 1
· High School diploma or equivalent
· 1 year work experience
· Valid SC Driver’s License / CDL Desired
Associate Maintenance Tech Pay Grade 2
· High School diploma or equivalent
· 2 years related work experience
· Valid SC Driver’s License / “A” or “B” CDL with tanker and air brakes endorsement
