# Position Information
We are seeking an energetic, friendly, temporary medical assistant/technician/technologist with excellent phlebotomy skills to collect and process specimens for a university based research project.
The position begins immediately and will end December 15, 2019.
The candidate will interact daily with study participants, PhD-level staff, and undergraduate student staff.
The job duties include:
- Venipuncture phlebotomy (young adults)
- Blood processing: serum and plasma separation using a centrifuge
- Blood processing: isolation of buffy coat or PBMC
- Point of care testing for 3 blood based tests
- Saliva collection
- Saliva processing
- Processing urine dipstick analysis data entry via Excel spreadsheets and/or LIMS
- The candidate must be a Certified phlebotomist with excellent phlebotomy skills
- Experience in operating basic lab equipment
- Experience in operating point-of-care testing devices
- Experience in knowing how to separate serum and plasma using a centrifuge
- Experience in collecting and separating aliquot serum and plasma according to tight research protocols
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
- $19 - $25/hour, commensurate with education and experience
