George Fox University announces an opening for Applied Piano & Vocal Accompanist, to begin August 15, 2021. The successful applicant will support our music department primarily through both contracted hours and course loading on a 9-month contract at the Adjunct Instructor rank. Responsibilities include * Accompaniment for choral ensembles in rehearsals and performance * Accompaniment for voice students, including recitals * Participation in Vocal Studio Class, every Wednesday from 4:30-5:20pm * Accompany vocal juries, and evaluate piano juries Responsibility may include, depending on the candidate's strengths: * Teach 3 sections of Class Piano * Teach Applied Piano for music majors, minors, and non-majors * Accompany Music Theater classes * Teach Music Theory courses Qualifications * A master's degree in a relevant field of music * Collaborative piano experience * A commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues * A commitment to working with a diverse population of students and colleagues * All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith. * Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S. Compensation The successful applicant will receive a contract totaling 150 hours of accompaniment at an hourly rate of $35/hour.
Applied lessons will be paid at the rate of $50/hour. Class load is paid at a rate commensurate with degree and experience. Preparatory time outside of contact hours is expected.
