Human Resource Generalist

GEOKON, LLC, The World Leader in Vibrating Wire Technology® (est. 1979), is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects throughout the world.  

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist, who will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the VP of Human Resources and other members of management supporting the overall mission of the company.  This position carries out responsibilities primarily in the following functional areas:  recruitment and retention, compensation/benefits, performance management, employee relations, training & development, heath/wellness/safety, employee recognition, HR policies & procedures, and compliance/employment law. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday with flexibility between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.                                                                              

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

1.         Recruitment •          Manages the full cycle talent acquisition process for a wide variety of roles•          Develops effective, thorough, and creative talent acquisition plans and strategies.  Source applicants through various methods.•          Manage applicant tracking system and maintain accurate and current data; ensures regulatory compliance•          Determines applicant qualifications by reviewing resumes, phone screening applicants, and analyzing responses.•          Collaborates with hiring manager on candidates to be interviewed and hiring team/committee selection•          Schedules, coordinates, and actively participates in most interviews •          Creates a positive candidate experience by ensuring candidates receive timely, thoughtful accurate and engaging communications                through the recruitment process•          Coordinates, participates, and documents debriefing logistics•          Provides feedback to VP of HR and Executive Management on recruiting and sourcing best practices, industry trends, the recruiting             landscape and job market, and candidate reactions to compensation/benefits and overall experience with our company. 2.         Conduct exit interviews, compile, and analyze data and identify patterns and potential areas for improvement 3.         Partners with managers to assist with the creation and maintenance of accurate job descriptions  4.         Assist in the execution of performance reviews, annual salary increases, bonus plan, and routine/special request reports 5.         Working with the VP of HR and Management, coordinate and conduct employee and management training(s)  6.         Assists with the implementation and facilitation of employee recognition programs 7.         Working with all members of the HR Team, administer of workers’ compensation, all leave programs (STD, LTD, FMLA), including                     transitional work and accommodations and ADA requests 8.         Provide guidance and support to management and employees on human resources issues, employment law, and assist in                              developing new programs and initiatives to meet company needs 9.         Assist with health, wellness, and safety programs 10.       Assists with new hire orientation and onboarding 11.       Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the Employee Handbook 12.       Cross trains in the payroll function to act as the backup for the bi-weekly payroll administration and processing.  May audit bi-                         weekly payroll 13.       Maintains employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements 14.       Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices 15.       Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management,               and employment law

Other Duties and Responsibilities:o   Attend meetings as needed/requiredo   Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisoro   Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:o   High School diploma or equivalent required o   Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred or a degree may be substituted for an additional 2 years of HR experience o   5-7 years of human resource experience required o   SHRM Certification a plus  Other Requirements:·        Solid understanding/experience with human resources and payroll processes, benefit and compensation administration, recruitment           and onboarding processes, handling employee relations issues, FMLA/Leave administration, employment law compliance (FLSA,                 ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.), performance management, employee development, regulatory reporting. ·        Excellent communication (oral and written) skills·        Attention to detail·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite·        Understanding of the product line and technical attributes·        Sound judgement and good business sense·        Ability to multi-task·        High level of interpersonal skills and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential situations and detailed documentation·        Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills·        Excellent negotiation skills·        Demonstrated ability to build consultative, collaborative relationships with members of management and employees at all levels·        Excellent conflict resolution skills·        Excellent organizational and attention to detail and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines·        Ability to work independently as well within a team environment·        Familiarity with Payroll/HRIS software required·        Must be authorized to work in the United States This opportunity is located in Lebanon, NH, near Dartmouth College, and resides within the scenic Upper Valley region of New Hampshire, which offers a wide-range of year-round recreational and cultural opportunities.  GEOKON is an outstanding company offering competitive salaries and excellent benefits including Medical/Dental, Life/Disability Insurance and 401(k).
