The Company is actively seeking creative, innovative, best-in-class experts to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer with expertise in downhole tool design, testing, and product support. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and exercising functional authority for engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Measurements Lead and indirectly to the VP of Drilling, Measurements, and Well Engineering.

Responsibilities:

Conduct all business activities in accordance with the Company USA core values

Commitment to occupational health, safety & working environment based on HSE rules and regulations

Adheres to and is an advocate of the Product Development and Commercialization Process ensuring cross-functional workflow through all phases of stage gate product development process

Develop new products in accordance with customer or contract requirements from initial concept study to final product qualification testing and support

Lead mechanical design and engineering activities in development of downhole tools including material selection, structural analysis, design validation and verification testing

Uses SolidWorks Design software to develop mechanical and electro-mechanical designs

Interfaces with multi-disciplined team members for electronics packaging design and sensor development

Modify existing products to incorporate new technologies and functional or reliability improvements

Provide technical support for manufacturing, testing, and production of downhole tools

Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases

Creates models and drawings in accordance with the Company USA standards

Assists and/or checks the work of drafters, designers, and less experienced engineers

Assists in preparation of project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports

Work closely with the Measurements Lead and Director of Engineering for Drilling, Measurements, and Completions to ensure projects are in line with organizational goals and objectives

Requirements

Key Skills:

Results driven with demonstrated ability to deliver on time, on target, with quality and sustainability

Application experience and/or understanding of downhole tools and technology required

Proficient with SolidWorks or Pro-E for 3D part and assembly modeling for design layout required

Experienced with SolidWorks Design, SolidWorks FEA, ANSYS or Abaqus FEA Software a plus

Working knowledge of API, ISO, and ASME standards for design and testing

Ability to evaluate simulation and test results for design iterations and product improvements

Working knowledge of machine design, rapid prototype technologies, and GD&T a plus

Effective time management, organizational, presentation, and communication skills

Project management skills including risk identification and mitigation planning

Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing schedules and deadlines based on priorities

Self-starter and team player with ability to work independently when needed

Qualifications:

Key Focus:

-This candidate must have experience with downhole drilling in the oil and gas industry

-Experience with MWD, LWD, or RSS tools is REQUIRED

-Needs to be strong with Solidworks or Abaqus

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8-10 years of experience in design/engineering of downhole drilling tools.

Experience designing and testing downhole drilling tools for MWD, LWD, or RSS applications required.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.

Benefits

Compensation: $100K-130K Base + 20% variable bonus dependent on company performance
