Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Warehouse Modeler with our client in the financial industry located in McLean, VA. This is a 2 + month contract position.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise Data Models in support of the client's Data Strategy
The Data Warehouse Modeler, as part of the Data Standardization team, will be responsible for working collaboratively across Lines of Business and Functions to develop Data Models in support of Enterprise initiatives
Responsible for partnering with Product, Business, Technology, Machine Learning, and other teams to support the development and integration of semantic technology into client products and services
Develop, implement, and govern optimized data models in consultation with stakeholders in teams dedicated to improving data discoverability, search, and product development
Contribute to data integration and mapping efforts to harmonize data with upper and domain ontologies
Communicate and advocate the value of client's efforts in standardization across the business
nalyze and implement knowledge organization strategies using tools capable of machine learning, ontology management, and semantic enrichment
Develop standards, guidelines, and direction for data modeling, semantics and Data Standardization in general
Test/troubleshoot new or updated models and systems
Manage and oversee other projects as assigned by Product Owners and Supervisors

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in information science, computer science, engineering
t least 2 years' experience in a metadata field of work or a Masters' degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics or computational linguistics
t least 2 years hands-on experience in Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical)
t least 2 years of experience in Entity Modeling tools (Erwin, ERStudio, Hackolade, PowerDesigner, Enterprise Architect, etc.)
t least 2 years' experience or training with SQL or SPARQL
Capable of supporting an emerging and evolving semantic program, capable of clearly communicating and advocating the value of using semantic technology and knowledge organization concepts

Desired Skills:

Master's degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics or computational linguistics
Experience in the Financial Services industry
Understanding of the development of ontologies and the use of controlled vocabularies and thesauri in enhancing the discovery of management of enterprise dat
Familiarity with graph databases and technologies
Familiarity with Python or R
Familiarity with SQL
Familiarity with JSON, OpenAPI/YAML, AVRO
Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and methodologies
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
Detail-oriented and an ability to problem-solve independently
Strong reading and writing skills
Strong project management experience
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and with confidence
