Job Description

Jr. System Administrator

Position Summary:

The Jr. System Administrator will maintain the company’s computer system which includes managing, installing, and upgrading the company’s server. The Jr. System Administrator is also responsible for ensuring back-up, data restoration, and secure data loss. Additional duties may include providing end-user support and resolving technical issues and supporting assistance for all operating systems, including remote support through phone or end-user via phone, and set up new hires with equipment and appropriate access to the company’s system.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides phone support for employees In-house and remote.

• Answer Help Desk tickets and Live Chat inquiries.

• Escalates or flags tickets and calls to Level III, or Supervisor when necessary.

• Utilizes Level II security access to Account Management System (PTS) to assist customers.

• Maintenance of the business software applications.

• Implement, install, configure, monitor, trouble shoot, and evaluate existing and new operating systems.

• Responds to server alerts as per instructions from supervisory staff.

• Maintain Domain access to new hires/terminations.

• Maintain Login accounts on ASS/400 system.

• Responds to voicemails in a timely manner and document all help desk tickets and answered calls accordingly.

• Confers with database programmers, analysts or other system administrators as needed.

• Assist with the implementation of new services and technologies.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Implement, install, configure, monitor, trouble shoot, and evaluate existing and new operating systems.

• Maintain, configure and support all end-user computer hardware.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Adheres to existing policy and coordinates inventory pickup and delivery ensuring an accurate change of custody transfer.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience required.

• Strong background in science, math, and computer science or computer engineering.

• 5 years experience supporting end users by providing technical assistance and resolving

technical issues for all known operating systems.

• 3 Years experience troubleshooting network, server, and operating systems.

• Proven ability to exemplify professionalism at all times with excellent customer service

skills.

• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.

Physical requirements:

• Lifting and moving: All staff members may need to lift move equipment weighing up to

40 lbs.
