Nurse RN - Cardiology (Buffalo, NY) *full-time*

Currently we are seeking a Registered Nurse - Cardiology Triage for our office located in Buffalo, NY! This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday - Friday and includes Free Parking!

No nights, weekends, or holidays!

Essential Duties of a Registered Nurse:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist providers with the proper facilitation of patient care.

• Serve as a liaison between providers, departmental staff, and patients by assessing patient needs and communicating health information
• Perform telephone triage of patients with cardiac related issues to include but not limited to symptom assessment, advice, test results and medication refill facilitation
• Complete prior authorizations for medication and diagnostic services
• Perform coumadin point of care testing and medication management
• Manage document bin and complete necessary forms
• Maintain medical supplies for department and complete monthly inspection of code cart ensuring proper functionality
• Respond to emergent situations and perform ACLS/BLS treatment
• Assist with medication management by performing medication reconciliation and queueing necessary refills to providers for processing
• Follow service line initiatives to avoid unnecessary hospital re-admissions by communicating with appropriate parties to ensure proper follow up within specified time frames
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, in accordance with internal and legal regulations
• Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization
• Perform other duties assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications of a Registered Nurse:

• Applicable State license, associate degree preferred
• 3-5 years' experience in healthcare facility and triage experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Codes, familiarity with cardiology diagnostic tests helpful
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to utilize computer programs
• Current CPR, BLS and ACLS Certifications required
