Job Description

Currently seeking Civil Engineer/ Project Manager for TXDOT PROJECTS Must be licensed PE in state of Texas.

  • Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of installations and layouts.
  • Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Observes work in progress to determine if procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
  • Conducts field checks of materials and equipment.
  • Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
  • Reviews drawings and specifications for constructability, advises project engineer of any deficiencies, and assists in developing solutions.
  • Reviews project materials, documents, submittals, and schedules.
  • Coordinates on-site compliance testing.
  • Reviews test results for conformity with plans and specifications.
  • Advises project engineer of deficiencies in materials or workmanship and assists in developing solutions.
  • Documents construction progress with photographs and written daily logs.
  • Maintains a set of marked-up record drawings for construction projects.
  • Verifies construction quantities and prepares pay requests.
  • Company paid travel required.
  • May work outside of normal business hours as required for specific projects including weekends and occasional nighttime work.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and other relevant hardware and software tools.
  • Requirements
  • Masters degree in construction management
  • Minimum of 5 years in construction phase services, construction administration or construction management services on municipal projects
  • PE in the state of Texas
  • CCM certification preferred
  • Civil PM Professional Engineer - Transportation

  • Typical tasks to be performed include:
  • Project administration, scheduling and coordination
  • Interaction with Client and subconsultants
  • Utilize staff to develop plans, details and Opinions of Probable Costs
  • Mentor and train staff
  • Exhibiting a keen interest in a high standard of quality and accuracy
  • Visiting construction sites to observe progress and conformance to plans and specifications
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Passed the Professional Engineer exam and can provide a PE #
  • Knowledge of roadway design software such as Microstation, Geopak or OpenRoads
  • 10+ years of previous transportation experience is required
  • Previous employment with TxDOT preferred
