QC Laboratory Technician
Job Scope
Reporting to the QC Lab Manager, this position performs quality control testing to published specifications and performs basic chemicals analysis in chemical manufacturing laboratory.
Perform incoming raw materials analysis, in-process sample testing and finished products testing and disposition of completed material.
Provide routine and non-routine test runs on samples, and record and analyze chemical and physical tests results (GC, Titration, Spectrometry, etc.).
Calculating batch sheets and adjustments to batches
Making solutions and standardizing for both lab and plant.
Conduct minor and coordinate the calibration activities with outside vendors.
Provide technical data regarding customer inquiries when needed and communicate quality issues to Lab Manager
Perform data recording into SAP, LIMS and other databases
Operate various lab test equipment, assist in maintaining the laboratory in proper order by supporting and participating in ongoing laboratory improvement initiatives, equipment maintenance, and ordering supplies and perform housekeeping, including washing glassware and sample disposal.
Enforce good manufacturing practices and safety policies.
Candidate Profile
BS in Chemistry and strong knowledge and understand of chemical processes and chemistry principles.
3 - 5 years hands on experience in chemical manufacturing laboratory environment
Knowledge of basic chemistry principles and chemical analysis techniques, use of lab processing and commercial equipment
Excellent analytical and problems solving skills
Ability to troubleshoot and find quick resolution, with excellent follow through skills
Knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques
Computer literate, specifically MS Excel and MS access and SAP
An ability to perform light calibration on lab equipment to ensure accurate results
Essential Functions
Senses of sight, touch, smell and hearing; Ability to work in chemical laboratory environment. Ability to distinguish and differentiate colors; Extensive standing for long periods of time 80 - 90%; walking 70 – 75%, sitting 20%; Constant reaching, carrying and lifting up to 25 lbs; Wearing protective equipment, including steel toe shoes, self contained breathing apparatus as needed; Emergency response; Rotating Shift, including nights, weekends, holiday, overtime.
