Salary is competitive in the range of $85,000 to $115,000 depending on experience, plus incentives and benefits.

About Regional Transmission Organizations

Transmission of electricity is administered on a regional basis in the United States. Regional Transmission Organizations and Independent System Operators operate the wholesale power grid and are responsible for moving electricity over large interstate areas. Each Regional Transmission Organizations is comprised of various committees and working groups that meet on a frequent basis to set Regional Transmission Organization policy and address emerging issues related to the wholesale power market.

Other relevant Regional Transmission Organizations include: ISO-NE, NY-ISO, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO. Gabel Associates Regional Transmission Organizations Services and Regulatory Affairs group comprises a dedicated team of energy industry professionals with deep knowledge of energy storage technologies, energy policy and the complexities of the various Regional Transmission Organization markets.

About the Regional Transmission Organizations Analyst Position – PJM:

The firm is looking for a dedicated professional to join our Regional Transmission Organizations Services and Regulatory Affairs group, which serves as the primary point of contact for our clients transacting in the wholesale power markets. The primary role will support our clients in PJM, though our expectation is that responsibilities would expand to other jurisdictions depending on need and candidate interest.

Primary responsibilities as Regional Transmission Organizations Analyst with Gabel Associates will include attending in-person and virtual meetings; monitoring Regional Transmission Organizations market developments; engaging with external clients as needed; analyzing and summarizing meeting discussions for Gabel Associates’ staff and external clients; applying regulatory knowledge to client specific projects. The analyst will play an integral role in supporting and collaborating with the team internally to ensure client expectations are surpassed. The analyst should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with the team and efficiently communicating information to our clients.

The firm is looking for a dedicated professional to support our Regional Transmission Organizations Services and Regulatory Affairs group. Primary responsibilities for the position will include attending in-person meetings; participating in conference calls; and analyzing and summarizing meeting discussions for Gabel Associates’ staff and external clients.

Minimum Qualifications

Energy and / or Regional Transmission Organizations Knowledge:

  • Understand wholesale energy markets and key Regional Transmission Organizations terminology
  • Ability to concisely summarize key takeaways from Regional Transmission Organizations market meetings
  • Knowledge of energy storage concepts, energy transmission, interconnection processes
  • Other areas of expertise could include energy law, statistics, economics, finance, and/or engineering

Communication

  • Translate complex topics into simple, persuasive terms, highlighting critical issues for diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations

Organization

  • Consistently meet deadlines through targeted goal setting, efficient time-management and proactive communication

Adaptability

  • Transition across diverse topics and groups of clients ranging from technical experts to corporate executives

Analysis

  • Provide logical insights supported with strong pattern-recognition and critical reasoning
  • Describe specific issues and provide relevant reasoning as to why it is important for clients

Preferred Qualifications

· Degree: BA, BS, MA, MBA or JD

· Prior experience with PJM

The Regional Transmission Organizations Services team primarily operates out of our Philadelphia office. However, candidates will have the option to remotely with periodic travel to attend in person meetings when necessary. Salary is competitive and includes a strong benefits package.
