Empowering scholars through culturally responsive mentoring, the Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research will serve all George Washington University undergraduates and alumni pursuing intellectual development through scholarship and fellowship competitions and undergraduate and postgraduate research participation.
Position Specific Summary
The Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research (CUFR) is seeking undergraduate student ambassadors who are passionate about sharing the transformative benefits of fellowships, scholarships, and research with their peers. CUFR Ambassadors, working 15 hours per week, will raise awareness about the Center, its programming, and its resources through peer-to-peer discussions, workshops, campus presentations, and tabling events. Ambassadors share their firsthand experiences in engaging fellowships, scholarships, and research and encourage others to seek out these high-impact opportunities. Above all, undergraduate ambassadors foster a sense of belongingness within these communities and connect peers to dedicated institutional resources.
Standard Position Description
The student will supplement the goals of the department/program by facilitating connections between the department/program and other individuals and groups. Tasks may include: representing the department/program at a variety of functions such as events across campus and in the wider community, giving tours or presentations for the department/program, and/or offer peer-to-peer guidance on a group or individual basis. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Required: Either (a) two semesters of faculty/staff mentored research experience*, OR (b) completion of an application for a nationally competitive fellowship or scholarship (in high school or college)
*Past enrollment in any research program, symposia, showcase, or conference will be considered
