# Job Description
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) is a subcontractor for a government contract with ITT that provides health care services for Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) in Qatar.
The PTA will serve as the primary PTA in support of the overall program objectives, under the supervision of the PT, Supervising Physician, and Director of Health Services.
The PTA shall collaborate with the Physical Therapist, Supervising Physician and Director of Health Services and TMC medical providers to plan, coordinate, and implement goal-oriented group and/or focused individual physical therapy treatment programs, selecting activities to increase or improve muscle strength, range of motion and coordination; teaches alternative or compensatory techniques for rehabilitation, reconditioning, and functional tasks regardless of physical, mental, and/or cognitive deficits.
The PTA shall assist the PT to collaborate with TMC medical providers to design treatment plans to meet patient/clinical objectives to maximize restoration of physical and adaptive roles and functions. Incorporate psychosocial and environmental factors that contribute to the impact of injury or illness on daily functional capabilities. Utilize physical performance measures to provide objective data and outcomes with activity/task performance. Design, fabricate, or recommend adaptive equipment and/or orthotic devices to improve function.
The PTA shall assist incorporate evaluation, treatment methods, and research trends and patterns to develop procedures, criteria, and policies to meet the emerging needs of the complex patient population. Provides oversight to the PTA as required by the state practice and consistent with recommendations of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
The PTA works under the general supervision of the PT and independently performs day to day duties, with the supervisor providing general guidelines, regarding the nature of therapeutic activities to include but not limited to the following list below:

The PTA, under the direction of the PT, plans, coordinates, and administers diverse physical therapy programs for wounded, ill and injured beneficiaries with a wide range of physical and behavioral health diagnoses and disabilities. Provides interpretation of PT's findings to initiate care, considering patients' neurological, surgical, sensory, respiratory, cardiac status, gait ability, posture, age, and general health. In consultation with attending PT, determines the length of patient treatment period. Makes recommendations and utilizes the various modalities of physical therapy, as prescribed, to include to include but not limited to:
The PTA shall assist in the development and implementation of complex, goal-oriented treatment plans for patients presenting with a multiplicity of dysfunction and impairments in physical, functional and adaptive areas such as:

The PTA shall assist in maintenance of supply levels, determination of supply needs, maintaining a fully functional physical therapy work space to provide a safe and clean environment for beneficiaries to receive rehabilitation. Coordinates and prioritizes own time in relation to overlapping demands of administrative duties and patient treatment.
EducationCurrent State License in Physical Therapy Assistant
Experience2-4 years working experience as a Physical Therapist in general ambulatory care setting is preferred.
Active/Unrestricted/Valid license and ability to maintain current licensure.
CompetenciesMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the MFA.
Reports to the Supervising Physician and Director of Health Services at the TMC, Camp As Sayliyah.
