Desktop Support Specialist

HIGHLIGHTS

Position Type: 7 Month Contract
Hourly / Salary: BOE

ONSITE ONLY

Job Description:
  • Guidance of technical staff
  • Provide training, support and troubleshooting
  • Review and test new technologies
  • Respond to all service requests
  • Use of LanSweeper
  • Document user request or issue, document the diagnostic steps performed when troubleshooting the issue and assist the user with resolution using existing procedures and documentation
  • Acts as single point of contact for users of the Department’ s Information Technology (IT) services and directs questions and report problems regarding services and products
  • Installation of desktop hardware / peripherals, printers and thin clients
  • Installation of individual software packages, as needed, for all users
  • Use of imaging software to create custom images and expedite large equipment roll-outs
  • Support and deploy O365 and Office 2016

Requirements:
  • 1-3 Years IT Specialist - Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer
  • 2 years experience supervising and providing technical support for level 2 help desk staff

Requested Skills:
  • 2 years experience utilizing VMware vSphere to support virtual desktops including linked clones
  • 2 years experience using LanSweeper, Remote Desktop and Active Directory, all three are required
  • 2 years experience using ITSM service desks
  • 2 years experience resolving hardware and software issues and troubleshooting Windows 7 applications and OS
  • 2 years experience configuring and installing Windows based hardware, peripherals, network printers and thin clients
  • 2 years experience in network monitoring, permissions and troubleshooting user accounts
  • 2 years experience with the installation and support of Microsoft Office suites in an enterprise environment
  • 2 years experience managing equipment inventory
  • 2 years experience scripting in a Windows environment
  • 1 year experience troubleshooting Windows 10 OS and applications
