Job Summary:

The Technical Project Manager position will manage key projects within the GSP Technology department involving completion of software projects for clients. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with technology department objectives. The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing projects to successful completion, ensuring that they deliver on time, on budget, and in accordance with approved standards and guidelines. Position supports customer service account teams and coordinates with developers on deliverables. Candidate will be involved with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) implementations and integration efforts. Must be comfortable working with all levels of management and internal and external team members, reporting key metrics on a regular basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plan and drive project milestones
  • Prepare status reports and budgets to keep management, customers and others informed of the project status and issues
  • Overseeing onboarding/hand-off of new accounts
  • Providing leadership to cross-functional project teams
  • Manage project life cycle from definition through implementation
  • Ensure projects are delivered according to scope, cost, schedule, and quality measures
  • Manage project change requests, project priorities, and project trade-offs
  • Maintaining current project documentation
  • Escalates program risks to the project sponsor when appropriate
  • Works with procurement team to create, administer, track, and eventually close program contracts
  • Makes recommendations for training and development needs for project team members

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in active management of resource loaded project schedules and resource assignments using Microsoft Project.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in solicitation, documentation, and validation of business requirements, and participation in the translation of those requirements into system design features.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in the creation, execution and tracking of system Functional Analysis activities including Business Analysis (ex. As-Is Modeling, Use Cases, etc.) and Technical analysis (Context Diagrams, Interface Mapping, etc.).
  • Experience with customer-facing web application development

Certifications (Any of these are preferred):

  • Project Management Proficiency (PMI-PMP)
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe 4 Practitioner (SP)
  • SAFe 4 Scrum Master (SSM)
  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Qualifications, Skills Abilities and Competencies:

  • Advanced project management skills for technology/software projects
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word
  • Broad background - ability to learn a new business quickly
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong awareness and intuition towards group/team dynamics
  • Natural leader who proactively coaches team members to perform at an elite level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with PC's to include knowledge of MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), maintaining data bases, generating information and tracking status using proprietary software
  • Ability to contribute to building a strong and positive team spirit as well as align with GSP values


  • Candidate must be able to commute within their metro area and travel in the United States as needed. Typically 10-15%
