GRAYBOX is looking for multiple Sr. Magento Developers to join our team for January 2023. This role is either fully remote or in our Portland, OR office. If you have solid experience working with Magento 2, are looking to grow your knowledge while solving interesting problems with a collaborative, goal-oriented team — we’d love to chat with you.
As a Sr. Magento developer on our team, you’ll be responsible for leading the building of ecommerce applications, developing custom solutions, implementing designs, maintaining existing code, and actively improving the usability, usefulness, and functionality of highly customized Magento 2 implementations. You’ll also mentor the rest of the team in best practices, code reviews, and generally give good advice about the best way to solve various problems.
You will work Full-time on a dedicated team for a large, globally leading client. This is a great opportunity to build up your resume and work collaboratively with GRAYBOX peers and with a Fortune 100 company.

Role Duties & Responsibilities
Solve complex problems and complete large Magento projects.
Own the planning and building of large new features, delegating work to others.
Collaborate with other developers, UX/UI designers, business analysts & project managers.
Develop code for the Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce Cloud) platform (mostly self-hosted Enterprise on a private Cloud).
Break down large complex problems into smaller, more manageable chunks of work.
Produce quality, on-budget, and on-schedule solutions on projects.
Work with and develop Magento modules, utilizing your understanding of blocks, observers, controllers, models, helpers, and MySQL.
Identify and escalate risks (budget, deadline, ambiguity, etc).
Advise and consult on best practices
Mentor others on the team and improve their skills
Present and demo your work to others
Your Qualifications & Skills
Required Professional Skills
Completely dependable and professional

Familiarity with Agile (self-managed Spotify agile in particular)
Good communication in writing, speaking and presenting at demos
Required Technical Skills
6+ years of experience with PHP
4+ years of experience with Magento 2
Experience with complex development processes
Solid experience with MySQL, Docker, Composer & KnockoutJS
Deep understanding of Magento architecture, design, theming, functional enhancements, optimization & integration methods.
Knowledge of how to identify and execute performance optimizations.
Good at troubleshooting and resolving bugs
Experience in enterprise-level development projects (Examples — large catalogs, lots of integrations, complex business requirements, etc)
Bonus Skills
You are Magento Certified
Ability to develop API integrations between Magento and other platforms (CRM, ERP, Payment, Shipping, etc).
2+ years of development experience in an agency environment, working on more than one project at a time.
Experience with DevOps — specifically Azure, AWS, etc
Experience with React, Node, or other Javascript frameworks

This is a full-time, permanent position that we’ll aim to start you in December 2022 for development start in January 2023.
Hiring Process
Our process generally involves 3-4 rounds of interviews; a phone screening, video calls with hiring manager, team members or specialists and CEO. Applicants will be required to also take a Magento skills assessment and review your results with an Architect. You will be compensated for your time for the exercise.
