  • Baked Goods - cookies, brownies, etc
  • Chocolate Products - chocolate bars, chocolate enrobed products
  • Other - mints, gums, etc

Job purpose

Responsible for all Medical and Adult-Use Marijuana infused products. Develop new marijuana infused products, purchase specifications and recipes. Develop and monitor food and labor budget for the bakery department. Maintain highest food quality and sanitation standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout the kitchen at all times by meeting with the production supervisor and the HACCP liaison on a regular basis
  • Implement training to staff to increase their knowledge about safety, sanitation and accident prevention principles
  • Develop standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation which help ensure consistently high quality and minimize food cost
  • Research and develop new products, techniques and infusion methods
  • Communicate with Laboratories to ensure proper infusion and homogeneity methods are achieved with marijuana infused product
  • Prepare necessary data for applicable parts of the budget; project ingredient and labor cost; take corrective action to ensure that the budget goals are met
  • Attend employee and management meetings
  • Ensure proper staffing for maximum productivity and high standards of quality; control ingredient and labor cost to achieve maximum profitability
  • Interact with bakery’s Quality Assurance Liaison to assure that standards are consistently attained
  • Meet with Leadership Team and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that production consistently exceeds expectations of customers
  • Assist Leadership Team in maintaining a high level of standards for the manufacturing of Marijuana Infused Products
  • Continually update written policies and procedures to reflect state-of-the-art techniques, equipment and terminology
  • Provide training and professional development for staff
  • Support safe work habits and a safe work environment
  • Retain and support a positive work environment
  • Communicate with Leadership team on a regular basis on the status of new products, procedures and bakery environment
  • Ensure that all marijuana maintains consistent documentation within compliant standards
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel and discipline employees as needed
  • Provide, develop, train and maintain a professional and positive workforce
  • Ensure a safe working environment and attitude on the part all employees in areas of responsibility
  • Interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, customers and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach
  • Produce a high volume of work in a timely manner that is accurate, complete, compliant and high quality
  • Arrive at work regularly on time, follow directions, take criticism, get along with coworkers and supervisors, treat others in the organization with respect and courtesy and refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behaviors
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Function specific experience required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in high volume bakery required
  • Education: Minimum Associates Degree in Applied Science for Baking and Pastry Arts; Proficient in College Algebra
  • Certifications: MED KEY Badge; ServSafe management Certification or equivalent; NEHA HACCP Manager Certification or equivalent
  • Working Knowledge of various computer programs – list computer programs; METRC, WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, QUICKBOOKS
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, committees, suppliers, and employees
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Working conditions

Work is performed in a kitchen environment or in an office environment that is adequately ventilated and lighted. Travel may be required in certain instances.

Physical requirements

Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work, such as agility, dexterity, and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
