Epic Client Systems Administrator

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: Configures and installs the Epic client software. Ensures that printers and workstations are configured and deployed correctly to support the business. Manages (configures, deploys, troubleshoots, etc.) Hyperspace, print service, Interconnect, PlanLink, and MyChart. Prepares, adapts, and improves Disaster Recovery responses, and tests those systems to ensure the integrity of the process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Achieves an in-depth knowledge of assigned role and its relationship to other roles. · Configures, supports, and maintains Epic client systems and Web-based applications (i.e. Hyperspace, Web Blob Server, Epic Printing Services, Interconnect, PlanLink, MyChart, Kuiper, etc.). · Cache ObjectScript coding in support of business and technical needs. · Monitors logs and System Pulse for anomalies and works to resolve, involving others as needed. · Participates in operational, system, and user/customer acceptance planning and testing, supporting full end-to-end deployment of the overall system solution. · Operates in accordance with established guidelines, following standards conventions for naming, numbering, and security classifications. · Troubleshoots problems identified by team members and end-users. · Follows established guidelines for system change, release, and incident control. · Identifies and recommends potential system enhancement needs. · Contributes to best-practice options for future-state workflows and processes. · Provides application knowledge to the project team, advisory groups, and others as needed. · Must maintain confidentiality of business information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), as required by HIPAA and company policy. · Performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. · Three years of experience as an Epic Client Systems Manager or Administrator (ECSM/ECSA), working extensively with Epic client systems and web-based applications systems (i.e. Hyperspace, Web Blob Server, Epic Printing Services, Interconnect, PlanLink, MyChart, Kuiper, etc.) required. · Two years of experience with Windows Server in relation to managing Epic components required. · Cache ObjectScript coding experience required. · Epic Certification specific to assigned role is desired. · Previous experience in the Healthcare industry preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · Possesses and applies knowledge of Epic client systems with proven competency · Possesses and applies strong knowledge of Epic systems with proven track record · Understands areas of the healthcare business specific to Epic client systems software · Analytical and problem-solving skills · Strong verbal and written communications skills · Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail · Ability to rapidly adapt to changing business requirements, and to efficiently acquire and utilize new skills in response to change WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office or other equivalently good environment with rare presence of abnormal variations in temperature or exposure to outside conditions. Physical effort normally found in clerical work or the equivalent. Work is primarily sedentary; however, occasional handling of small objects (up to approx. 20 lbs.), and occasional walking or standing may be required. TRAVEL: May require occasional travel for offsite meetings or training. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No supervisory responsibilities.
