Job Description
$800 Sign-on Bonus: $400 upon the completion of training (2 weeks). Remaining $400 upon the successful completion of introductory period.
LOCATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: This is a Full-time position, based at Chula Vista. and San Marcos clinics. Regular travel may be required between the clinics.
SUMMARY:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or on-site Physician to provide direct and indirect patient care; performs designated procedures and treatments which require knowledge and technical expertise within the LVN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, techniques, guidelines and standing orders; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and collaboration among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population; performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Salary: $34.05 - $35.97 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intravenous (IV) line set up, operate infusion pumps.
- Performs phlebotomy, collect specimens
- Administer medications; injections subcutaneously, intramuscular, IV.
- Lead or assist in neurodiagnostic procedures and tests such as Transcranial Doppler (TCD), Eye Movement recordings, and neuropsychological testing
- Patient rooming and intake (Medical history, chief Complaint, vital signs blood pressure, orthostatic BP, pulse, respirations, pulse oximetry, height and weight), clinical documentation, medication reconciliation, performs EKGs, patient positioning for procedures
- Perform neurological scales (PHQ9, GAD7, AUDIT, Epworth, Geriatric depression scale, HIT-6 scale, KATZ ADL, MIDAS, MINI-COG, MMSA, MOCA, STOP-Bang, Slums)
- Support providers in management of Electronic Health Record mailboxes, respond to patient questions and concerns
- Patient counseling and education; explains to the patient the procedures followed in an examination, a diagnostic test, or treatment
- Clinic Medication Management (Clinic stock inventory, sample medication inventory)
- Care Coordination and Case Management of post-hospital discharged patients.
- Other duties as assigned
- A minimum of one year of experience required
- Experience in outpatient setting preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Current and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association required within ninety (90) days of hire
- Intravenous (IV) certification required
- Phlebotomy certification required
- Valid driver's license required. Clean DMV record and reliable transportation
- Schedule variability depends on training needs within the organization
- Proof of COVID Vaccination
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, use of Microsoft products, computer navigation, as well as copier, fax machine, good digital dexterity, hand-eye coordination to utilize assessment tools.
- Previous experience in the use of electronic health records.
- Ability to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
