Our production is mainly devoted to the manufacture and sale of gray Portland cement, mortar, premixed concrete, concrete blocks, plaster, aggregates, and other construction materials.

General Purpose

Maintains, calibrates, troubleshoot and installs Opacity, Emission and Process Monitors. Design, setup, install, maintain, troubleshoot PLC programs and HMI screens, Data Communication Systems and Instrument Systems throughout the plant. Dismantles inspect, repair replace or adjust faulty parts and wiring on electrical power and control equipment used in the plant. Reassembles, tests adjust, insulates and paints electrical apparatus as required including mechanical equipment if feasible. Will maintain a safe working environment, electrical safety, adherence to safety policies and practices, daily housekeeping of assigned area, perform daily workplace inspections (look for missing/burned out lights, open conduits, broken conduits, air leaks, oil leaks), adhere to plant storeroom policy (parts issues/returns in a timely manner), and use and care for plant radios properly.

Main Responsibilities

• Will maintain a safe working environment, electrical safety, adherence to safety policies and practices, daily housekeeping of assigned area, perform daily workplace inspections (look for missing/burned out lights, open conduits, broken conduits, air leaks, oil leaks), adhere to plant storeroom policy (parts issues/returns in a timely manner), and use and care for plant radios properly.

• Be familiar with MSHA safety rules, safety procedures for plant mobile equipment, lockout/Tagout policy, confined space permit policy, hot work policy, emergency response plan, arc flash/shock and burn protection, proper containment and disposal process for lubricants, paints/solvents, and other environmentally sensitive materials.

• Ensure quality of work performed, continuous improvement system, observe and promote best practices, good time management and be able to troubleshoot/analyze root cause failure.

• Must work in high places and under adverse conditions.

• Will work where and when needed as directed by plant supervisory personnel to meet plant needs.

• Follow and comply with the company’s safety and environmental guidelines.

• Maintenance tasks as assigned on equipment from low DC voltages through 480 VAC.

• Receive PMR’s/Work Orders (WO) in written and/or verbal form. Record job findings, results, etc…, on PMR/WO and return to the supervisor.

• Housekeeping, cleanup of jobs and assigned work areas.

• Periodic SOS observations.

• Mobile equipment operations related to position responsibilities (such as a forklift, bobcat, man lift, overhead crane, and mobile crane operations).

• Shift/schedule as assigned.

• OT as required

• Other duties as assigned

Education

High School

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Graduate of vocational school with an emphasis on basic electricity and electronics or equipment training in military service schools.

• Minimum of four years documented on-the-job training.

• Basic mechanical aptitude.

• Has or will obtain an ISA Certified Control Systems Technician Level 1 Certification or equivalent within 2 years of occupying the position.

• Ability to safely and efficiently operate electrical test equipment.

• Good communication skills.

• Demonstrate computer skills with various software, including Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, SAP, and email.

• Ability to take action as needed to complete assigned tasks.

• Able to adapt to change

• Support and assist in GCC 5S and CI (Continuous Improvement) implementation.
