Switch Technician III

Description:

At least 5 years relevant experience required. Our quick-thinking and tech-savvy Switch team members are expected to: Conduct expert wireless network equipment installation and maintenance Test, locate, and repair complex equipment problems Handle configuration and fault management for a range of platforms including voicemail (IN), HLR (Home Location Register), VLR (Visitor Location Register), BSC (Base Station Controller), SMSC (Short Message Service Center), and IWF (Inter Working Function) Perform database backups and conduct maintenance of computer hardware and software Work with telecom vendors to meet schedules for new equipment installation Assist RF engineering to ensure the best possible network performance. Must have Ericsson experience. Must be willing to work all shift types and will report to the Honolulu MSO.

- Candidates should have Ericsson experience is a must. They will need GSM and LTE/5G experience.
- This position will be for Technology team Operations
- Must be onsite
- Extension possible

Technology Requirements (I.E Programs, systems, etc) Use of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Use of putty, SecureCRT, notepad ++, and ENM. Use of Ericsson OMT and Element managers as well as MOSHELL.
What does a typical day look like? (daily tasks) Morning and evening facilities walks
RBO/MSO Contractor and visitor check in/out
Facilities maintenance management for the Koapaka Switch.
Cell site Contractor and visitor pre-check check-in/ Post-check check-out
Cell site alarm clearing
Package receiving and logging
Preferred background/prior work experience? MSO experience with facilities management, Ericsson GMS/BSC experience as well as Ericsson LTE/5G experience and Nokia/Alcatel router experience
Priority soft skills Good verbal and written communication skills. Competent in Office 365 use. Good Customer service skills.
