Corporate Legal Counsel

Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate for this position will be a practical, business-oriented attorney with at least 3 years’ experience in M&A, finance, or real estate at a large law firm.
The Legal Department supports the Company’s diverse business units supplying products and services to the worldwide commercial aviation industry, including leasing and finance of commercial aircraft and aircraft engines and components; trading of aircraft, aircraft engines, and components in the secondary market; repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and airframe and engine parts and components; and logistics, distribution, and digital software services. The department is also responsible for corporate governance, compliance, and risk and litigation management, and provides support as needed to the HR, IT, accounting and finance, and facilities departments. The Company has offices and operations around the globe, and attorneys are frequently required to consider foreign laws and international practices.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiate and draft complex agreements for domestic and international transactions
• Interact extensively with management and employees of the Company at all levels, and with customers, vendors, government agencies, and outside advisors and counsel, as required
• Provide legal guidance to management on a wide range of commercial and legal issues, including commercial transactions, finance, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, employment, and litigation
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Strong drafting experience in corporate/ M&A, banking/finance, or commercial real estate transactions
• Detail oriented while also mindful of the big picture
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Practical problem-solver who enjoys negotiating and closing deals
• 3+ years’ experience in the corporate, finance, or real estate department of a large law firm
• Team player with a sense of humor
• JD, licensed and in good standing
