POSITION OVERVIEW


At G&H, Developers interact directly with clients and team members to conceive and implement technology solutions for our government, not for profit, and private sector customers. They demonstrate a high level of technical expertise in a wide variety of software use and development, as well as web-based solution development.


The function of the ESRI GIS Developer is the design, development, and implementation of custom geospatial software solutions. The role is responsible for both design and development of Esri based mobile, desktop and/or web-based GIS solutions. Candidates should have demonstrated experience using Esri based APIs to develop customize web applications, viewers, and widgets with preference for Experience Builder. Other desired experience includes python, Jupyter Notebook and FME Server for data ETL or automations. The developer will work collaboratively in a distributed team environment using source control. The developer will also create test plans and test scripts, application configuration documentation and create system design and technical specifications.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides remote development of GIS applications including configuration and extension of the ESRI platform.
  2. Assists to gather client requirements, analyze technical/business requirements, write functional and technical specifications, and communicate technical requirements to client and team.
  3. Creates solution prototypes and assists with control of solution development and deployment.
  4. Assists with architectural system evaluations and analysis of technology environments.
  5. Provides customer-site deployment of geospatial information-sharing solutions including technical assistance and integration with other systems.
  6. Works in close coordination with other technical team members to meet client needs.
  7. Identifies and stays abreast of current IT best practices relating to developing and deploying information sharing/management and software services.
  8. Deploys applications/services to on premise or cloud environments depending on client needs.
  9. Provides the highest level of quality assurance for all work, products, and services.
  10. Delivers timely and high-quality services or products that meet or exceed client's expectations.
  11. Demonstrates high level of commitment to client success while responding to changes in client expectations; monitors and uses client feedback.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of related experience developing web based Esri geospatial applications and custom widgets.
  2. 5 years' experience developing with Esri JavaScript API and JavaScript, React or Angular.
  3. 5 years' experience with ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience customizing Esri Experience Builder and development with Esri JavaScript 4.x API.
  2. Demonstrated experience working with one or more of the following development languages: Python, Typescript, .NET, C#, Arcade or development using Jupyter Notebooks.
  3. Practical skills and knowledge of operating systems, infrastructure and engineering design, DevOps, system security measures, database management, cloud development, web platforms, hardware/software management, and network administration.
  4. Capable of providing leadership to the technical team and clearly communicating the technical aspects, risks, and challenges of solution options.
  5. Detail oriented - must ensure constant and consistent evaluation of every aspect of solution development and delivery to understand what is valuable, versus what is insignificant.
  6. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse and Teams Toolkit.
  7. Knowledge and experience with Agile, DevOps, or Rapid Application Development.
  8. Experience using GitHub to manage code.
  9. Experience working with RDBMS: MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  10. Experience with interoperability software FME and FME Server.
  11. Proficiency with the Web, MS Office, and SharePoint.
  12. Experience working in public safety, including disaster response and preparedness community.
  13. Knowledge/experience with WebEOC or other emergency incident management systems.
  14. One or more of the following professional certifications is highly preferred:
    1. Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP)
    2. ArcGIS Online Administration or related experience
    3. ArcGIS SPI for Python or related experience
    4. ArcGIS Developer Foundation or related experience
    5. Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
    6. Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Application Developer Associate
    7. Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
