Job Description

Job Highlights

  • Responsible for ride and game attraction maintenance as well as general facilities maintenance
  • Work with a dedicated year-round maintenance team continuing 60+ years of excellence
  • Ensure the highest standard of park and operational repair to maximize ride and game uptime in season
  • Work on larger project-based work as well as preventative maintenance during the off season
  • Balance the maintenance needs for two distinct operating periods: in-season (110 days) of season (255 days)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily safety inspections of amusement rides during the season
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair amusement rides/games and park equipment in accordance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, equipment manufacturers' operating standards and requirements, company policies, and best practices
  • Oversee larger preventive maintenance projects in the off-season to prepare for in season
  • Maintain accurate records for all maintenance and inspections performed.
  • Work with other departments as needed to complete duties
  • Engage in the installation or removal of machines, rides, tools, and equipment within the park
  • Oversee larger preventative maintenance projects on rides and games outside of the operating season
  • Maintain positive and friendly interactions with guests and employees in accordance with Funland's standards
  • Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and MUP's
  • Maintain certifications as needed for equipment operation
  • Report to the Director of Maintenance and the Assistant Director of Maintenance
  • Assist with park operation when needed
  • Establish programs to achieve efficiency and organization within the maintenance department
  • Take yearly continuing education classes
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 years old and in possession of a valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BS/BA degree or trade school certification preferred
  • Preferred 2-5 years of maintenance experience in the amusement industry or a mechanical trade field
  • Trade school or comparable military training will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Willingness to complete a Level 1 Ride Inspector Certification within 1 year of employment
  • General understanding of pneumatics, electronics (frequency drives), and other equipment in support of mechanical trades
  • Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment
  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work under minimal direction
  • Ability to handle physical workload

Working conditions:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays during the approximate 110-day operating season
  • During the non-operating season work hours are typically Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors under a variety of environmental conditions
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting required
  • Exposure to high noise levels
  • Occasional climbing, working at heights up to 50ft and lifting up to 75 pounds

What could put you ahead:

  • Experience performing maintenance trades such as welding, pipefitting, fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearings, lubrication, pump and piping systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience working with control voltages 120/220/480V
  • Trade school certification or degree in an electrical/ mechanical field or relevant military experience
  • Experience troubleshooting programming technologies such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's)
  • Experience with precision maintenance such as laser alignment and/or dial indication

Compensation

  • Salaried compensation between $55,000-$65,000 annually based on experience
  • Annual profit sharing plan up to 25% of gross salary compensation!!! That is right!! Up to 25%!!
