ETL Support Engineer

An ETL Support Engineer supports the Data Architecture department and actively participates in Agile teams to provide hands-on support both internally and externally to clientele. The ETL Support Engineer should have both excellent communication and multitasking skills and demonstrate extensive knowledge across multiple operating systems. This is a fully remote job opportunity.

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Supporting and primarily responsible for collecting, parsing, managing, and analyzing large scales of data.
• Refactor existing ETL solution to scale.
• Architect, develop, and maintain a highly scalable data warehouse and build/maintain ETL processes.
• Designs, develops, automates, and supports complex applications to extract, transform, and load data.
• Research and iterate on ideal system and application configurations for optimization and reliability.
• Participate as a member in Agile teams, and work with other team members to review user stories, estimate effort to build functionality supporting user stories, and participate in sprint reviews.
• Investigates data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify end-users and propose adequate solutions.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1-year minimum experience in an ETL production support role.
• Ideally 2+ years’ experience working with each of the following: Python, SQL, RDBMS, and AWS Services.

Skills & Experience: 

• Has a good understanding and hands on experience of the various AWS services, particularly: S3, Glue, Lambda, Cloud Formation, and other AWS server-less resources.
• Solid hands-on experience of Python language.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues like database performance, database capacity, replication, and other data-related issues.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
• Able to take on multiple projects concurrently and manage changes in scope along the way.
• Client focused approach with good communication skills to provide support directly to end users.
• Dockers or similar containerization experience.
