Job Description

In preparation of the startup of Fulcrum BioEnergy's first waste to fuels facility, Sierra, we are recruiting individuals with a strong safety aptitude and attitude, as well as a keen desire to be involved with a project that will make an impact on our community.

We are in need of Utility Operators who will be responsible for quality control of MSW and removal unacceptable material from the sorting line, conducting general cleaning throughout the Fulcrum Processing Facility and routine processing system preventative maintenance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and actively promotes a safety-first working environment.
  • Manage on-site truck trailer movements and scale operations in conjunction with site field personnel, including verifying loads and ensuring the accuracy of all scale operations data. 
  • Maintain records and logs of scale activities.  Review scale activity daily, weekly and monthly.  Reconcile monthly scale activity with Waste Management (WM) records; submit proper reports to accounting for payment.
  • Manage and analyze site data collection including process testing and key performance metrics (KPMs), incorporate lab data for cross-referencing and work with Fulcrum engineers to further analyze data.
  • Manage and maintain site records and files, such as environmental/safety records, performance testing records, scale records and related analyses, KPM’s, personnel records and timesheets, act as the point of contact for all site records.
  • Coordinate and manage all site purchasing, receiving and payment approval, coordinate with the accounting department as necessary.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with a wide variety of Fulcrum personnel, vendors, and contractors.
  • Act as point of contact for site IT, telecommunications, and software issues.
  • Support FPF management, as necessary.
  • Participate in training of other FPF functions to ensure the ability to perform other operations and maintenance tasks throughout the FPF, as needed and assigned.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Office location will be primary work environment.
  • The Feedstock Processing Facility sorts municipal solid waste using a combination of mechanical and manual systems.  These systems employ a variety of fixed and mobile equipment to handle and process, shred, and sort the MSW into high value recyclable products and feedstock. 
  • Although equipped with a dust collection system the FPF building may at times become a dusty environment during while processing MSW. 
  • Noise levels in the work environment are usually high, hearing protection may be required.
  • This is a full-time position.  Shift work, including nights is common and overtime is often required.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college level preferred.
  • Strong understanding and ability to develop and use Excel spreadsheets for analysis and presentation of facility testing and operating data, including statistical analysis.
  • Strong demonstrated computer and software knowledge and related work experience.  Software experience to include database, spreadsheet and word processing knowledge.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license and ability to maintain such license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and criminal background checks.
  • Willingness and acceptance to train in other operations and maintenance functions to ensure the ability to perform other duties throughout the FPF.
