Under general direction from the VP of People Engagement and Safety, the Director of Talent will work collaboratively together on the overall functions and responsibilities of this division as it relates to the People Engagement talent acquisition program, internship program, visa worker programs, on-boarding, new employee orientation programs, employee advisory group and other personnel functions, services and policies/programs. 


The Director of Talent will work on succession planning for key positions to align the workforce with company strategic goals.


Specific to the Talent Acquisition program, the Director of Talent will manage the entire talent acquisition process, such as; job postings, job fairs, recruitment/interviews/selection policies and processes; background checks, pre-employment drug screens as well as provide leadership to Talent Acquisition staff.   


The Director of Talent will work with the senior leadership team in conjunction with all management levels to develop a positive work culture that emphasizes quality, customer service, employee development, positive working relationships, team-work and a high standard of performance.


The Director of Talent maybe called upon to provide management support to the safety team, payroll/benefits team and the commercial driver compliance team that are all part of the People Engagement & Safety department.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Five years of progressively human resources experience, preferably in a similar industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must possess knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management and relevant employment laws and regulations.
