Assistant Director of Compliance
REPORTS TO: Director of Compliance
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Supports the Director of Compliance and assumes
responsibility for coordination and data management for general resident population,
with a focus on increasing safety, compliance, quality of programs and the well-being of Friends
of Cyrus programs. Oversees and supervises the Quality Assurance Specialist's efforts and
responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in IDD.
- Computer literate, including: Microsoft Office products, electronic health record, and
electronic mail.
- Master's degree with 7 years' experience in IDD with 5 of those years in a supervisory
role.
- Knowledge of IDD Terminology and NJAC 10:44A regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the Quality Assurance Specialists
- Provides input into the training and professional development of staff as well as well as
conducts training to assist in meeting the organizational training plan.
- Ensures programs meet licensing and funding requirements.
- Analyzes data and prepares reports on data as requested. Areas to analyze (but are not
limited to); Critical Information Logs (CIL), data collected through Therap, site safety
inspections, fire evacuation drills, licensing reports, consumer satisfaction surveys.
- Prepares and submits required internal and external reports on all program aspects
including continuous quality improvement and performance indicators, consumer
satisfaction surveys and all other reports as requested.
- Assists in a variety of initiatives and programmatic performance monitoring.
- Attends meetings on behalf of Director of Compliance as requested.
- Provides organizational support of delegated operational functions as needed.
- Ability to track, manage, document, identify, and report program data.
- Works closely with team members to coordinate annual licensing visits and assists on
correcting deficiencies.
- Oversees the QAS' to conduct program audits and will document deficiencies as well as
provide on the spot corrections for items deemed to be a safety or health risk. Will
assume duties when needed.
- Will work with the programs to conduct quarterly audits to ensure compliance with the
Plans of Correction (POC) and the NJAC 10:44A regulations.
- Follows up on duties as assigned by the Director of Compliance or COO.
- Provide staff in-servicing and training as identified as well as assisting in Staff
Development/New Employee Orientation as needed/required as per the Director of
Compliance or COO for but not limited to Unusual Incident Report/Incident Report
Training, Medication Administration and Documentation on GH paperwork.
- Will manage/lead committee meetings such as but not limited to Incident Management,
Quality Improvement Audits/10:44A audits & POC updates, topics as related to Quality
Assurance and Compliance.

- Ensures policies and procedures related to Quality Assurance are reviewed, updated nd
documented in the associated program manuals.
JOB ACCOUNTIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates tracking systems in preventive services including but not limited to
wellness visits, annual exams, screenings, etc. to support the programs.
- Oversees and conducts if needed full NJAC 10:44A reviews on assigned homes with a
comprehensive report detailing findings and expectations.
- Oversees and conducts if needed weekly Pop-up visits to homes to review health and
safety issues, home safety and other items as identified.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Works in conjunction with the GH Managers, Assistant Residential Directors, Residential
Directors, and Development Team to ensure P&Ps are being followed.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Respects residents by recognizing their rights; maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
