Job Description

Position Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor strives for complete and on-time shipments as well as efficient management of Inventory Control Systems, as well as the overall supervision of the warehouse associates, which includes ensuring a safe work environment, training, and mentoring employees in order to achieve and surpass department goals. Please note, it's possible this position would work out of both of the company's warehouses (Louisville as well as Aurora/Tower Rd.)

 

Essential Functions

Supervision of Warehouse Associates

  • Communicates and maintains employee safety and security standards
  • Trains and mentors employees in order to achieve and surpass department inventory control goals
  • Direct warehouse associates on daily priorities, including staging (preparing/moving pallets for shipment) and shipment of raw materials and/or finished goods for multiple shop orders, each with a sensitive deadline
  • Ensure warehouse associates are trained to utilize the scan gun and that they always follow proper product scanning procedure
  • Consistently communicates and drives team toward company and department goals
  • Conduct investigations related to employee complaints or errors; administer disciplinary procedure
  • Establishes and maintains a positive work environment, which sustains an exceptionally high level of Team Member morale

Manage Inventory Control Systems

  • Ensures diligence with FIFO and FEFO process
  • Minimize waste due to improper pulling/issuing for scheduled production
  • Keep an accurate count on products by physically counting inventory and comparing to recorded inventory; reconciling variances
  • Pre-planning; juggle and analyze competing priorities

Troubleshoot

  • Investigate and resolve any issues that may impact on-time and in-full shipments, such as discrepancies in goods scanned vs physical/actual goods
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Reconcile finished product on hold, damaged or expired

Routine Administrative Tasks

  • Audits finished goods
  • Daily and quarterly inventory duties
  • Building inspections; ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Preparation and participation in Year-End Audits

Quality Assurance

  • Generate allergen placement check and correct any noted allergen issues
  • Maintain warehousing and distribution operations in accordance to policies and procedures, including Quality Assurance administrative procedures
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure that all hold material is identified and labelled correctly; also working with QA to ensure that all new materials have the correct COA and the artwork has been verified

Run and utilize various reports, including but not limited to daily cycle count reports.

Establishes and maintains collaborative and productive working relationships with various departments; takes an active role in assuring customer demand is met

Skills & Knowledge

  • Must be able to read and understand instructions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must have good analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Must be able to work as part of a team to ensure all company standards are met

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory role in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred; some college preferred
  • Must be able to pass forklift certification

 

Work Environment

  • May be required to lift up to approximately 15-50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout facility continuously
  • Must be able to use both hands and arms in repetitive motion if needed
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work in both hot/cold conditions
  • Comfortable with a moderate noise level
  • Able to work in an environment with all known allergens
