Primary Summary:

Accountable for all cash on premises. Responsible for the training and supervision of tellers and coordination of their duties. Maintains prescribed records and summaries of transactions.

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee training and supervise duties of tellers, coordinating their work flow and schedules. Ensure that all tellers handle themselves in a businesslike/professional manner in handling member needs.

  • Constantly review performance of teller activities as to the use of their cross-selling techniques in accordance with their performance appraisals and discusses needed changes with each teller.

  • Operate a teller cashbox daily, performing all teller transaction functions. Balance own teller cashbox daily.

  • Report all shortages and overages to Branch Officer for review and maintain documentation of these outages. Suggest corrective action steps based on teller errors as set forth in policies. Work with Branch Officer to write and conduct any required corrective action.

  • Order the appropriate amounts and types of cash for the credit union and supply tellers with daily cash, money orders, travelers checks, and other necessary supplies. Maintain proper documentation of all currency received and disbursed.

  • Maintain overall control and accountability for all vault reconcilement including ATM, coin machine, TCR and Main vault. Periodically audit individual cash drawers of each teller as required by policy. Maintain documentation of audit for monthly reporting to senior management.

  • Provides back up assistance to platform staff for new account requests.

  • Responsible for meeting sales and service goals set by management.

  • Ensure security policies and procedures for cash control and employee/member safety are followed. Open and close building in accordance with set hours and tests security equipment monthly.

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Position Requirements:

Experience

1 – 2 years previous financial institution experience preferred.

Minimum two years in a supervisory capacity.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

GED preferred.

Physical Demands:[1]

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time; reach with hands and arms.
  • Sustains repetitive motions while using computer keyboard. Close vision for the computer screen is also required.
  • Bends, stoops, kneels, pushes and pulls while filing or moving supplies.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
