Human Resources Coordinator

Position Objective:

The Human Resources Coordinator is a professional who completes administrative duties for the Human Resources Department. They assist and support our Restaurant and RSC Tribe with onboarding, employee records maintenance, and administrative support. Freebirds' Human Resources Department falls within our Legal/Compliance Department, and this position reports to the Senior Human Resources Generalist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for internal and external Tribe for HR related inquiries;
  • Assist with processing employee onboarding, orientation, transfers, pay changes, and terminations;
  • Complete Forms I-9 and employee eligibility verifications;
  • Complete employment verifications as requested;
  • Assists with employee reward and recognition, including our anniversary and birthday celebration program;
  • Coordinate employee meetings, events, and activities;
  • Maintain and audit employee electronic files and contact information;
  • Respond to day-to-day Tribe inquiries regarding pay, benefits, etc.;
  • Process HR invoices;
  • Assist with workers' compensation and unemployment claims;
  • Assist with Restaurant Support Center (RSC) office support items; and
  • Assist with day-to-day projects as they arise

Competencies:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information and maintain confidentiality
  • Working understanding of human resources principles and procedures
  • Ability to manage time effectively and establish priorities
  • Comfortable with HRIS Technology
  • Ability to follow instructions and interpret guidelines
  • Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and work effectively with others

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior HR experience a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Skilled and accurate typing ability;
  • Knowledge of the English language, correct spelling, punctuation and usage;
  • Ability to compose professional correspondence to employees;
  • Strong organizational skills; and
  • Ability to quickly learn how to navigate and maintain corporate databases.
