Construction Manager

The Construction Manager position will oversee all onsite day-to-day Restaurant construction related activities and projects and will ensure that all Restaurants are constructed in accordance with the approved construction drawings, on time and within budget. He/she is responsible to apply effective management techniques to the planning, design and construction phases of a new Restaurant project from inception to completion for the purpose of controlling cost, time & quality. He/she is expected to utilize management systems to promote the successful execution and completion of all capital projects via the utilization of systems and processes that promote effective coordination and communication between all parties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with Landlords, city officials and subcontractors
• Coordinate assigned work with trades, company departments, or other contractors.
• Responsible for development of proposed Master Schedule (including milestone events)

• Routine field reporting in the form of visit Observation Reports
• Review & approve all site, building & equipment shop drawings and submittals
• Track, review and respond to all Contractor & Equipment Vendor "Requests for Information"
• Recommend approval of pay applications
• Successfully complete Restaurant "Turnover" to New Restaurant Opening team (operational testing & set-up), GM and Facilities

• Address any safety violations or other deficiencies.
• Maintain & track all Restaurant warranty repairs
• Perform 11 month warranty walk with restaurant operations and facilities team
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups is essential.
• 60% Travel (sometimes more depending on construction activities)
• Microsoft Proficient with a focus on Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint
• 2 to 5 years Restaurant Construction related experience
• Excellent project management skills
• Display's superior analytical and communication skills (written & verbal)
• Has excellent interpersonal skills
• Is professional in manner
• Pays close attention to details
• Able to prioritize duties & tasks with a sense of urgency
• Deadline oriented and completes tasks, assignments or projects in a timely manner
• Bachelor's degree preferred in related field (Construction, Architecture or Engineering)
