Job Description
Summary:
The function of the Senior IT Support Specialist is to provide advanced level technical support for all aspects the IT environment including end user systems, production systems, network operations and file transfer services. The position will provide oversight and technical guidance to Tier 1 (T1) Service Desk Analysts and partner with other IT staff on a variety of various projects and issues requiring a combination of technical expertise, analysis, communications, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
Provide advanced hardware and software troubleshooting support.
Provide desk-side in-person Tier 2 (T2) and tech-bar support onsite.
Provide oversight, guidance training, and documented processes to T1 Service Desk Analysts.
Create and maintain IT support documentation and escalation procedures for T1 and Tier 2 (T2).
Serve as a point of escalation for GFS incidents and tickets.
Work in conjunction with network, server, endpoint engineering, systems administrators and the software development teams.
Monitor the Tier 2 (T2) ticketing systems and infrastructure monitoring systems.
Respond to customer/end user requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
Administer file processing and production processes for data sources, systems, and partners.
Troubleshoot production issues including batch processing, web service transactions, and SQL related issues; Identify sources of issue and fix or coordinate resources to fix.
Deploy software changes and assist with data changes in accordance with written instructions.
Develop scripts for automation tasks.
Administer secure file transfers and file movement processes.
Follow run book procedures when responding to incidents.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
Support inventory and asset management process.
Participate in the on-call weekly rotation outside for afterhours support.

Accountability

You must meet work deadlines, have regular attendance, good oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team, ability to multi-task, use a PC and a computer terminal, and the specialized telephone system. It requires access to all areas of the office, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time, periodically bending and twisting, and frequent application of a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. You must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. The Company will provide reasonable accommodation where necessary.
Qualifications
2- or 4-year degree and or equivalent experience working in an advanced Tier 2 support role including hardware.
Knowledge of IT Operations and data center terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures.
Practical knowledge of SQL Server systems including databases, schemas, entity relationship, data tables, SQL jobs and SQL security
2+ years of responsibility for production applications, including batch processing.
2+ years of experience with scripting language (PowerShell, VBScript).
2+ years of experience supporting VPN and VDI environments.
Must have good attention to detail and quality, strong customer service skills, and organizational ability.
Proven skills troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Clear understanding of PC/Laptop hardware, Windows 7, Windows 10 configuration and troubleshooting.
Clear understanding of Windows Server administration and configuration
