We are looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager (Night Shift) to coordinate all duties of department or area. These include but are not limited to improving safety and quality, reducing costs, and maximizing the department’s effectiveness. Coordinate communication among and between Warehouse Operations and Production planning and operations. Assistant Warehouse Manager manages hourly employees in assigned area, provides appropriate training, development and ensures consistent roll out of plant policies & procedures.

Shift starts at 6:00 pm
In This Role
- Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned department
- Provide guidance and training to hourly workforce to ensure picking, receiving and quality goals are met
- Meet picking and receiving schedules as well as inventory control and accuracy
- Drive cost saving initiatives to improve performance and cost of the warehouse operation
- Drive LEAN activities to improve performance
- Maintain positive employee relations, open communications while resolving employee discipline or performance issues
- Maintain professional relationships with other departments within operation and corporate office
- Identify, recommend, develop and implement improvements in safety, quality, processes, costs and SOP documentation
- Secure the facilities when leaving for the day when closing
- Ensure the facility is clean and all safety programs are being followed
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to Warehouse Manager immediately
- Conduct stand up meetings at the beginning of each shift to review past performances and workload for current day
- Work cross functionally with other departments to meet company goals and objectives

The Ideal Person
- 2+ years of experience as a manager in a warehouse
- Identify items on all paperwork including, but not limited to: customer orders and labels, manifest documents, packing lists, stock receipts, and bill of ladings as needed
- Basic computer skills that include: warehouse management systems and Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed and some weekends
- Required to wear steel toed boots/shoes at all times during work hours
- Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly without assistance; and maneuver and lift up to 225 lbs. repeatedly with assistance
- Ability to operate manual and electric material handling equipment, such as hand trucks, fork lifts and order pickers
- Forklift experience/certification preferred but not required but must have the ability to be trained
