Themanager has a 24-hour, 7 day a week responsibility to provide leadership,management, administration and supervision for the cost center(s). Thisincludes planning, organizing, staff development, performance management,quality fiscal and information management, regulatory compliance, dailyoperations, building and enhancing relationships through customer relations andappropriate professional involvement. The manager is accountable for themanagement of the cost center(s) within the established budget. The managerwill work closely with directors, ancillary staff, managers, medical directors,medical department chairs, physicians and other disciplines to develop servicesand ensure quality. Manager will have access to all pertinent patient healthinformation.
Providesleadership to the staff related to care of the specific patientpopulation/department and associated administrative management

Performsscheduling, time card adherence and submits pay period productivity variance reportsidentifying rationale for variance and follow up actions to correct
Controlsand monitors supply costs to achieve flexed budgeted costs
Reviewsstatistical analysis information and corrects
Identifiesand implements cost savings through labor and supply utilization efficiencies
Ensuressound staffing, anticipates and forecasts personnel needed, maintains staffingplan consistent with departments productivity benchmark, active in recruiting,interviewing, hiring and training
Maintainsindividual patient classification system which predicts nursing carerequirements by shift and maintains documentation to discern trends andpatterns of nursing care delivery by shift and staff mix
Ensuresperformance evaluations are completed on time and criteria-based jobperformance standards, and applicable competencies, are current with each staffmember
Assessesand implements staff development, recognition and cross-training
Collaborateswith coordination of hospital orientation, interviewing, mandatory continuing educationprograms and department specific orientation of all department staff
Providesfeedback and effective counseling to staff in a timely manner
Maintainspersonal knowledge and expertise in department specific area
Supportsother departments within the facility and maintains good rapport
Ensures aroutine mode of communication with staff on a regular basis
Communicatesself or staff concerns or problems through proper verbal or written channels
Ensureshospital mission, vision and values are maintained and upheld
Demonstrateseffective and responsible relationships with patients, families, medicaldirectors, physicians, employees, management, administration and relatedoutside agencies
Ensurestimely follow up of patient, family, staff and physician concerns

CurrentCalifornia RN license, or the ability to obtain California RN license beforestart date.
Three (3)years clinical experience
At leasttwo (2) years in a healthcare leadership role
CurrentAmerican Heart Association BLS Certification (maintained current at all times)
Excellentcustomer service skills.
Demonstratedexperience in leading patient experience initiatives.
Effectiveverbal, written and listening skills
Abilityto independently manage priorities
Currentknowledge of the field with evidence of ongoing continued education
Proficiencyin multiple standard healthcare computer programs (e.g., CERNER, KRONOS, etc.)
