Senior IT Manager Description & Duties:

The Sr. IT Manager is responsible for inspiring teams to deliver project(s), assignments, and goals that span across one or more functional area. Lead/Manage resources, schedules, vendor relationships and financials. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that every interaction (internal or external) is built on trust and respect.
  • Strive to collaborate on the identification/refinement process areas, by establishing a personal rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Insist on providing a level of service, second to none, to both your internal and external clients and leverage sound judgement to make informed decisions or to influence someone else's decisions.
  • Providing guidance to direct reports, typically comprising first-line managers, supervisors, etc.
  • Ensuring clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area
  • Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Guiding the talent identification and development processes for a group or function
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results
  • Interacting with senior management for reporting, yet hands-on with direct reports
  • Working with senior management and other peers for strategy development and execution planning
  • Communicating financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct reports
  • Facilitating goal-level creation for the broader function and working with the team to ensure the goals cascade to all workers
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral, with technical and non-technical staff, at all levels of management
  • Influence and gain buy-in from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers
  • Build strong team skills with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Projects, and a tool like Atlassian Confluence/JIRA, VersionOne, etc.
  • Leverage Atlassian product suite, MERN stack, Snyk, SonarQube, and MS SQL Server to help build out future products, as well as, to help maintain existing products.
  • Assisting and creating coding

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or an Associate's Degree w/equivalent work experience 5+ years of IT management experience 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Project Management software and Development software.

Office environment with significant time spent sitting, typing and talking on the telephone.
