Forterra is currently hiring for a General Manager for the East Region. This position would oversee the P and all commercial and operational activities for Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Ohio and Kentucky. The General Manager will report to the Vice President of Forterra's Eastern Region.Forterra is a leading manufacturer of pipe and products in the U.S.
and Eastern Canada for a variety of water-related infrastructure applications, including water transmission, distribution and drainage. and Eastern Canada.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage production facilities and operations management team to deliver required volumes at budget cost and quality (the operational objectives).Develop and manage sales and marketing organization, sales office administration, marketing, quality and related functions.Manage manufacturing facilities to ensure workplace safety, environmental compliance and community responsibility.Develop culture of continuous improvement and lowest cost producer in the industry.Forecast annual production volumes, costs and budgets for the geography.Develop promotional and sales goals and strategies for the geography and each sales area.Develop strategic plans and activities, as well as providing oversight and management, for capital expenditure, project management, maintenance, distribution, sales, marketing, and quality functions to ensure overall operations and sales goals and objectives are met.Manage budgets and department costs with accountability in managing the Profit/Loss for the geography.Drives a Safety culture for the geography.Recruit, train, manage, coach and develop subordinates by fostering an environment of engagement and accountability.Manage the relationship between sales and operations to maximize overall region/area performance.Manage the business in a professional manner to ensure compliance with all legislation, Sox compliance etc.Represents Forterra at industry and trade associations.Ability to travel locally.Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in related fieldMaster's degree (MBA) preferred10-15 years of industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience/training.Solid knowledge of the organization, the competences, and Forterra products.Commitment and engagement through high level of work ethic and utilization of abilities for the best of the company.Internal and external customer and market management.Performance and result management.People management (i.e. management of subordinates' performance and enabling teamwork).Budget Management (i.e. fiscal responsibility with budgeting, forecasting and managing Profit/Loss).Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.Establish trust and relationships.Entrepreneurial management (i.e.
