Network Support Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Network Administrator will ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network and implement and/or facilitate the initiatives of the Chief of Information Technology.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network hardware, software and communication links
• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades and repairs
• Develop, implement, and maintain the policies and procedures for network resource administration and disaster recovery
• Manage security solutions, including firewall, and intrusion detection systems
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
• Implement other job duties as directed
• Work with contractors to install network drops

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science
• Certification in CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
• Certification in CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
