We are seeking a Recovery Coach to join our team! You will be responsible for providing support and guidance to clients who have co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders, in their community.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsel and encourage individuals who have co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders
  • Develop and implement individual service plans
  • Establish realistic goals and milestones
  • Work as part of an ACT team ( Assertive Community Treatment)
  • Have an awareness of local resources
  • Facilitate referrals to healthcare or counseling professionals
  • Local travel required and reimbursed
  • Ability to drive to meet clients at appointments, in court, possibly at home or in jail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to stay focused while working somewhat independently

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with people in recovery from substance use disorders
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Shared life experience (must be in recovery from substance use disorder for over 2 years)
  • Texas Recovery Coach Designation or willing to attend courses -provided to the chosen applicant
  • Functional Microsoft Office Skills

The Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. (FBRC) is a dynamic organization that began in Rosenberg, Texas in 1976. FBRC provides Fort Bend County with youth substance abuse prevention programs, special events, education, counseling and summer leadership programs. FBRC offers our community an adult substance abuse treatment program. One of the agency's newest initiatives is coalition work, this enhanced collaborative focus has resulted in The Fort Bend Community Prevention Coalition , a program of FBRC. This initiative is focused on creating and sustaining environmental investments that protect young people in the community from substance use. Our Mission is: Providing families and individuals substance abuse prevention, education, and treatment services they need for positive change for themselves and the community. FBRC is licensed and funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services and is a United Way agency. Programs are supported by grants, contracts, program fees, fundraising and private donations. FBRC operates on a sliding scale fee basis. No one is denied services based solely on their inability to pay.
