Job Description

Managing all aspects of our open Accounts Receivable and the collection of customer balances.  Our company is customer service focused in all areas of the company. All of our customer relationships are paramount and as such an important aspect of the position is providing customer service as you uncover underlying issues that have prevented payment. In addition, AR will be responsible for proactively setting up processes and procedures that help and encourage timely payment and prevent issues that may lead to past due balances before they occur.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect all current and past-due customer balances
  • Provide customer service regarding collection issues
  • Process credit memos, customer refunds, and account adjustments
  • Resolve client discrepancies and short payments
  • Establish and monitor credit limits
  • Post customer payments by recording checks, ACHs, and credit card transactions
  • Resolve credits on accounts due to overpayments, duplicate payments, or billing errors
  • Update all client records and collection notes in accounting software
  • Cross-train and fill-in for co-workers on billing and accounts payable
  • Assist with other projects as needed
  • Meet or exceed goals for total Days Sales Outstanding as you work to bring delinquent balances to an acceptable level
  • Establish yourself as a liaison between internal project coordinators, project managers, marketing/sales,  and directors to obtain assistance in how to best collect on their projects

Requirements:

  • 3 years experience or equivalent combination of experience
  • Knowledge of standard Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable software systems, general accounting software, word processing, spreadsheet, internet-based, and database software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous demonstrated experience in collections, cash applications, accounts receivable adjustments
  • The ability to respond to requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize based on timeline and company needs
  • Ability to handle proprietary and confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner
