The Recovery Coach Specialist is responsible for providing daily resident monitoring, guidance, and education, promoting a safe, secure, and therapeutic milieu environment, and participating in the therapeutic milieu, care program, and community. This individual will provide crisis intervention and milieu management as indicated, work as a member of the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with residents that support their recovery
  • Transports residents to & from appointments as needed
  • Provides individual and resident support through group monitoring
  • Actively participates in the maintenance of a structured and safe milieu and follows all policies and procedures related to resident/milieu safety
  • Completes all required documentation according to policies and procedures and ensures that daily document includes interventions the resident has utilized toward meeting their care goals
  • Maintains resident safety by appropriate implementation of safety procedures and precautions
  • Completes safety rounds and documentation in real time
  • Obtains residents weights and vitals
  • Obtains residents drug/alcohol levels via UA and BA
  • Performs Body Checks and Inventories
  • Performs Room Inspections
  • Provides bathroom monitoring when indicated
  • Provides activity and group facilitation when indicated
  • Implements resident interventions in accordance with clinical recommendations
  • Assumes the role of resident advocate according to guidelines in the Client Rights, Confidentiality Act, and Client Grievance policy
  • Develops knowledge of chemical dependency and other relevant issues and demonstrates competency in providing and implementing resident care

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record over the last three years
  • Ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, sit, walk, or drive for extended periods
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs
  • Occasionally required to lift or move objects more than 40lbs and perform manual holds
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written)
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or related field
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in mental health, particularly with Substance Abuse
  • Experience in Healthcare in direct provision of care to patients
  • Current Certification in health care provider CPR
