Customer Experience Specialist

Focus is a photography and consumer electronics company based in Brooklyn. First founded in 1966, we have faithfully served the New York City metropolitan area for over fifty years. We are looking for an enthusiastic Customer Experience Specialist to join our customer service team. Working out of our Brooklyn HQ, our customer service team connects with hundreds of customers every day via phone, email, and online chat. This is a fast-paced, full-time position in which the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail will be crucial to your success.

At Focus, we appreciate that every customer is unique, which means every day is different for our Customer Experience Specialists. Working on the front line, we’ll be relying on you to ensure every customer has a positive experience, even when things don’t go according to plan. If you’re a team player that enjoys problem-solving and helping others, you’ll fit right in with our considerate and hard-working customer service team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-class customer service to customers via phone, email, and online chat
  • Respond to all customers in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Positively address customer queries and complaints, providing solutions when things don’t go to plan
  • Investigate shipping claims (e.g. package not delivered)
  • Pass on customer feedback and insights to your superior so the customer experience can be constantly improved

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to type proficiently with 100% correct spelling and grammar
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Embraces challenges and can adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment
  • 0-2 years of experience in a customer service or sales position
  • eBay experience a plus
